As many of you know, Ron and I will be getting married this January. I am having one heck of a time trying to find CURLY WILLOW, which we are using as a decoration for the wedding. All the craft stores and places on the internet want a fortune for just a few branches. I figured that someone on this list had to have a willow tree in their yard! What I'm looking for are the thin, twisty branches with somewhat reddish bark. If anyone can help, please e-mail me at [email protected].
Now I don't want to hear about anyone cutting off branches while they are off-roading...

I've got a big willow in the front yard. It's probably about time to trim it, anyway. I don't think the thin, wippy branches are reddish, 'though. More like a yellow-green color...
How many pounds do you want ???

Wasn't Curly Willow the name of that female sports commentator on ESPN?

Curly Willow, sometimes called Corkscrew Willow or Dragon-claw Willow, has the botanical name of Salix matsudana cv. 'Tortuosa'. It is not native to the US. However, many nurseries carry this popular ornamental shrub/small tree. Check with some of the better nurseries in your area.

RNBIII, YES, I really want those branches.
Keith, thank you! Where do you live? I don't know how many pounds, about 12 individual handfuls, approx. 3 feet long.??? That's a start!
Ho, thank you....and you may have it wrong. Now *I* have a wheeling buddy for life.
AFV, no comment.
Bill, thanks for the clarification. Unfortunately, nurseries were a fortune.
Chrisvonc, thanks! As far as LRNA goes, we need a house more than we need rover parts, but we all know how that goes!
Ron L., unfortunately a weeping willow is very different. Thank you for the offer, though!!

Actually, my gf told me that she wants to have a fleet of Discovery/Land Rover on her wedding.
Better than willow?
(Nothing to do at work, the contractor/consultant are still trying to fix the data....)

Well....sorry, but that's what I have in the yard, too. I had a feeling it wasn't what you really wanted.
