Hey, if you get any info on this please post it. I am going to have to do the same thing on the drivers side.

My abs light is on all the time. Just started yesterday. How can you diagnose a sensor or which sensor without the costly aid of a L.R.dealer?

Cal,
Visually inspect each of the 4 wheel speed sensors to see if they are seated all the way. If you find one that is sticking out a bit, that is your problem. Push it back in and you should be set. If they are all seated fully, either one of the sensors is internally faulty, or something else in the ABS system is awry. Unless you want to start blindly swapping parts, the teskbook will need to be used.
Note... According to a LR tech I know, the swivel pin bearings can wear unevenly and prevent the front sensors from being pushed in all the way once they pop out. If you find its a front sensor, and a reasonalble amount of force from a hammer and drift won't reseat it, you will have to install the swivel pin bearing overhaul kit and reset the preload. Not a lot of fun to do yourself, but at least the parts are relatively cheap. The sensor does not need to be replaced unless badly scored.
Good luck
