One of the front frame to body mounts is cracked on my 2000 Disco II at 28K miles. Check yours, or have the dealer check it, if it is still under warranty. Even if you don't see it have a professional inspect it- mine was hard to see.

This is the mounting point you can see at about 2 o'clock when you look in the front wheel well, and the crack starts at the bolt hole and moves outward. Of course if this fails it will CRUSH and pinch my brake lines. DLR advises it MAY be out of warranty because vehicle is 'heavily' modified- front bumper, EMU lift/shocks, skid plates, and 245/75/16's.

Trek vehicles were stock suspension I think and 265/75.........
I'd like to see them prove how these mods increase stress on the chassis.

If one body mount fails there will be little movement. The body is not that soft! Over time you may get some movement but the firewall is right there and it very stiff at that point. Take it to a Body shop that does frame repair. It's a simple weld should take less than and hour.

Rich - LR dealerships all put the same kind of modications on Discos. They call them "KITS". These kits all range in the same mods as you listed. I say the dealership is pulling your leg and dont want to do the warranty work. If not, then try another dealership or report the dealership to LRNA if that does any good.

Chris - The TReK discos had HD suspension in the front to accomidate the brush bar/winch set up and ran BFG 245/75 tires on 16" wheels for the events. Once the events were done LRNA put the stock tires and 18" wheels back on and changed out the full brush bar for the A-Frame winch mount.
