Thinking about joining the LR fold (so be gentle!) and would like opinions on the Disco that I'm looking at:
'96 Disco SD
51K Miles
Valves and Head gaskets just replaced - stuck exhaust valve
New Exhaust
1 Owner - A coworker.
ARB bumper w/ Warn winch
New Tires
All Records - Service mostly @ LR dealership
$13.9K
Overall great condition - doesn't even leak! (I checked there are still fluids in it ;)
Does this sound like a good deal? Any other problem areas to look for???
Thanks for any info!

Yeah, sounds good to me too. You said that this Disco has a ARB bumper with a winch on the stock suspension. The springs must be sagging. The first thing that I would do to it is get new heavy-duty springs/shocks all the way around. Go with Rovertym(www.rovertym) or Old Man Emu(www.expeditionexchange.com) or (e-mail: [email protected]).

Sounds like a good deal for $13.5K. I bought my 95 with 49K miles and it's been great. I'm a little curious about the valve work and gaskets (okay not so curious about the gaskets!).
Again, I second the opinions about the Rovertym and OME HD shocks up front (and rear MD) to offset that ARB and winch!
Cheers,
Erik
