While driving down a forest road in Telluride, my exhaust broke off at the connection of the Y-pipe and headers. The truck is sooo loud that it is embarassing to drive. It broke right below the connection on the y-pipe. Can this be welded back together or do I have to get a new y-pipe? This break wouldn't be covered by the 7 year emissions warranty would it?
Thanks,
James

Both of ours broke after some hard offroading. Any muffler shop should be able to weld them up, but they may want you to provide them new gaskets and nuts to put the system back together. We didn't check on the emissions warranty since the dealer is 200 miles away. But I seem to remember a previous post that sounded like it might be worth asking your dealer.

just so ya know......the 7 year warranty is for '95 and newer trucks i believe. but it is worth a shot if you have a dealer nearby. i had mine rewelded on my 1st disco and it worked fine.
