Here's a helpful dad tip.

The rear cargo cover, when extended, serves as an excellent changing table when you're traveling with midgets...

What??!!

If I go over a speed bump, mine pops off the hooks and rolls up. I've had to get binder clips to clip onto the hooks to try to hold it into place, but it will still pop off if I'm off-road.

I wish mine would hold enough to hold a kid... we've got another on the way, and a portable changing table would be nice!

Leslie,

You have to stop the truck before you try to change the baby...

No, there's no time! The wife already has us running late.... I'm the kind of guy who would rather show up 20 minutes early, and usually we're lucky to leave the house in time to be there only 10 minutes late.... So we have ta change on the move instead of taking time to stop and do it!! :)

Karen,

I KNOW what you're thinkin'.... that us dads don't really change diapers, that we leave it to the wives!

Every chance I get!! :) Or, grandparents, or friends who volunteer, etc.

But, I have to say, I changed the diapers for each of my kids before my wife did (Why, of course I did! She was still laying in a hospital bed after delivery, of course I was able!! I hadn't just gone through the equivelent of squeezing a watermelon out my nose! Thank goodness!!) :)

LOL!!!

I've changed my son in the back of the disco, and my last car. he loves it! Normally stop though (or slow down at least).
Hard work while your driving, having an auto would be a bonus, but you can just throw the soiled article out of the window at anyone with a BMW soft top. :)

He's too heavy for the cargo cover (he's 19 months old), weighs about 30 Lbs +.

This thread is interesting! Actually, this is the very reason why we got the disco. Sad to say but off-roading was just second. One afternoon in a mall parking lot, my youngest(then 3 months old) soiled his diapers and had to change him in the back seat of a VW Jetta. I know even more un-imaginable things can take place in the back seat but changing diapers was just plain difficult.

That very afternoon, my wife and I saw the Disco in the dealers showroom and were amazed of how big the back seat was compared to our Jetta. Imagine the possibilities! The next day I went to the bank and got the loan. The rest as they say is history!

And yes, I also change my kids diapers, I just did this morning.

We discovered the cargo deck this weekend while driving up to Napa to visit grandparents and to escape the news for a few hours.

My wife decided to pop the midget out of the car seat and pop him on the cargo cover while I was filling the truck up at the service station.

He's only 3 1/2 months and 14 pounds. I assume we'll have to find a new spot once he gets too big.

I change him too, but he seems to save his biggest messes and the chance to pee on someone for when mom gets the job. Smart boy.... ;-)

The area between the ARB bull bar top and hood front, make a good cradle to hold a 3 to 10 month old while changing...

while moving??? not sure??

Also, If you're in the center of the back seat, simply reach foward and open the center console...you know how it flips over and makes a (sort of) a level deck? I cut down and mounted one of those retractable window screens in there...so it makes a (sort of) flat bed to change a baby up to 16 months old on...

But now that she's 18 months, I don't know what to do?

I'm trying to tell her to change herself, but to no avail!

The cargo cover in the DI has never been strong enough, I don't know what you're talking about JEFF?!

Leslie - grab a pliers and bend those black retaining clips so that they really grab the cargo cover.

My daughter enjoys the Disco, but she really prefers to go topless:

My daughter's 11 (going on 21!) : she'd better not be going around topless!!!

:)

I had actually thought about bending them once, but for some reason (who knows why) thought better of it at the time.... I can't think of any reason why not... Consider them bent!
