I have seen 2 different snorkels on the market

ARB and Mantec
I have seen one that requires you drill a hole in your quarter panel ( not realy what I had in mind) and the pipe runs all teh way down the quarter panel parelel to the air intake box.

The other I have seen, appears to use a small cut out of the hood area, up close to the glass and runs inside.

who has experience with this?

and are these my only options?

Joshua,
I personally have the ARB. I liked the way it looked, and the installation was a breeze. Took the template to a local auto body shop, and for 20.00 they cut out my holes perfectly. Couldn't be happier. Check my gallery, Seann Cummings.

I have the mantec - it looks great and doesn't have the pipe running along the side. Its also all steel and really solid. For the extra bucks, IMHO its worth it. I'll post installation instructions today if my internet is ok.

BTW Watch out for viruses everyone - stop sharing your drives if you don't need to and avoid attachments to emails unless you are sure.

Ps the mantec (at least on the D2) also cuts into the quarter panel, not the hood.

I have the Mantec, I love it, nice and solid, actually has probably saved me a dent or too. I think personally that it looks much cleaner without the piece running along the fender which probably gets caught on things. But I would recomend getting the connector that allows the hose to connect through the side of the air box from ARB. Just e-mail them the part is available. The mantec connects through the front but if you can connect through the side you can add another battery in the space left.

Have you ever needed the snorkel? If so, what happens to other electronic components? It seems as though you can go up to the headlights with little problem anyway?
