Last night the phone rings, a buddy called to tell me to change to the History Channel. So I turn on the TV and flip over to it, and there's a Series Rover climbing up a slope. The show was a new one in the Ultimate Autos series, called "4x4". It walks through the development of the 4x4, from the early ones to today. I came in on the middle of it, so I missed the earliest part, but watched the rest of the show. Talked about Baja, Moab-style rock-crawling, Humvees, SUVs, etc. Of course, LOTS of Jeeps, but quite a few Rovers were mentioned, too. Lots of classic Rangie and Disco shots towards the end ; even mentions Jeep Jamborees modelling on Rover rallies.
I checked the schedule, and the next airing of that particular episode is on Sunday September 23, at 3PM (Eastern Daylight Time). I think I'll just make sure I have a blank tape in the VCR that day...

There were CT rigs, Discos, RRCs, SI Rovers, Dormys (not in mud, just showing off the top); and other things like Toyota Baja racers, Hummers, lots of Jeeps.
The Discos were being put through the paces, and doing well....
I kept thinkin' of all of the advertising it was doing for Land Rover....
