when i got home from work (35 miles) i turned off my 96 disco and pulled the key out of the ignition. after i did that, there was this fan like noise comming from under the hood that lasted about 30 seconds then went off. is this normal? it's never done that before...
thanks

Sounds like the electric fans that run after you shut off the engine if the water or fuel are too hot. But normally they run for some period of time like 6 to 10 minutes. Was the engine particularly hot? Were you running the air conditioning?

This is normal. If the ECT is above a certain level the electric fans will stay on after the engine is turned off. They shut off automatically after the temp cools down a bit.
