Who makes the best exhaust system, and where can I find the best price on it.

I love my 50 Series Flowmaster. Just go get to a good local exhaust shop and have them bend you a system for a more reasonable price than NRP or Borla...and you can get them to tuck it away pretty well and bend the tip any way you like it.

I just had mine done yesterday. My local muffler shop bent one for me to match the original. They used 2 1/2" pipe. I first had them install a flowmaster "type" muffler (can't remember the name) but I guess I'm getting to old because I thought it was too loud. Actually, I liked the sound but there was a resonation between 1500 and 2000 rpm that was really annoying. I went back and had them put on a stock muffler. I didn't do it for the performance anyway, the old one was rusted out. They charged me $150 for the first install w/performance muffler and another $50 to replace the new high perf. muffler with a new stock unit because I didn't like it.

just head to a midas or a local shop and you will walk out paying $250 or so for a whole system. with the extra cash you can buy me a new ARB bumper!!! i had a midas system on my first disco and it worked great. my reasoning is why dump mega $ into an item that can easily be trashed and will last resonably long for the $.

With these replacement systems, I'm guessing the rear resonator gets deleted. How's that sound? Make it any louder, or doesn't matter much at all? I'm guessing it should sound about perfect. Anyway my exhaust is shot and a local shop is gonna bend one for me and I wasn't planning to put the "TCIS" resonator back in. I don't want it booming like a Borla (ridden in a Disco so-equipped), but something with some "throat" would be nice, so what's a decent-sounding muffler you guys would recommend? Thanks for any thoughts and opinions.

As I said before, I love my Flowmaster 50 Series. It's not too loud, it just a lower, deeper tone. They have a new "Delta Flow" Flowmaster that is supposed to cut down resonance but it costs about $40 more. Check out:

just went from a 50 to a 40 Delta Flow.
the 40 series delta flow is a bit quieter than the standard 50 series, so the Delta-flow 50 should be a lot quieter. the tone is the same for both 40 DeltaFlow and standard 50.
bought mine from summit racing

I had a local shop put a stainless system in my 95 disco with a Bullet muffler (also stainless) for around $275 or so. My Disco's a weekend warrior and I didn't want condensation rusting a hole thru the pipes every 2 years or so. I had a Chevy pickup that had that problem and I wasn't going to go thru that sh*t again.
