I want to get a pump for the interior of my rover, for those bad mud holes that us NJ folk seem to get stuck in quite often.

Specifically if there is water coming in through the doors, a 12V pump of some sort could save the day (and the ecu).

TIA
Dean

I don't recall seeing a Rover stuck in the mud during our outing, momentumly impaired maybe, but not stuck hehehe.

BTW nice pictures.

Larry,

LOL!
You're right, but it was close sometimes! I just think that if I am sitting in water / mud and stuck, how nice it would be to have a pump. Maybe a hand pump would do the trick?

BTW - weren't you in the fire service? Did you have to deal with the WTCs last week? Everything ok?

You already have a hand pump it's called your wife, give her a bucket and tell her to bail LOL.

No I didn't have to deal with the WTC but it's been really hard dealing with the loss of 250+ brother firefighters.

BTW I have pic's need to get them scanned.

I've referred to the wife as a hand pump before, but never in conjunction with the Disco! :)

Sorry - bad taste, but that was just waiting to be said.

If plan on sailing a "Land" Rover you might stop by a boat store on the way to the lake. LOL

Dean,
Try West Marine. I've bought multiple bilge pumps, large and small for my boats of the years. I think the biggest concern if you were to fit one, would be your electrics and how deep you anticipate going in the H20. Namely, the battery mount would surely get flooded if you have water in the cabin. You'll have to waterproof your ECU and etc. I bet the best place for a pump or two would be under one of the two front seat and in the rear space. Maybe mount a 2nd battery up high.

Oh ya, remove the amp and cd player too...

Steve, David,

Thanks guys. Although I don't plan on sailing (LOL), I just feel it would be nice to protect some of the interior electrics. I have sat in pretty deep water for a while, and very little comes in, so I hope it stays that way.

Actually, I checked the rover yesterday as I was cleaning it (again), and found the door seals to be pretty damn good, at least for now anyway. They seem to seal all round with a thick spongey strip.

Oh well, something for the wife to do as I fart around in the mud!

Dean

ps I wish I had a CD!
