My fuel pump is bad. I need to know how to put the new one in. Any tips are greatly appreciated. I ordered the pump with harness.

Here is what the manual says for 1995 and on:
Depressurize fuel system. Disconnect negative battery. Syphon @ least 9 litres (2gallons)of fuel tank into suitable container that can ce sealed. Remove carpet from loadspace floor and tailgate. Foldback loadspace sound insulation to reveal access panel. Remove access panel from floor. Disconnect multi-plug from fuel sender unit. Disconnect two fuel line unions from fuel pump. Using service tool #LRT-19-001, remove pump unit retaining ring. Withdraw unit from fuel tank.
REFIT:
Insert fuel pump into tank. Fit retaining ring. Tighten to 48NM. Connect fuels lines to pump. Connect multi-plug to sender unit. After assembly, check all fuels pipes, sealing rings and hose connections are secure. Run engine to check for fuel leaks. Inspect access panel, fit a new seal if necessary. Fit access panel adn tighten screws. Reverse removal procedure 4-5 Fit insulation and carpet.
DEPRESSURING FUEL SYSTEM:
Remove fuel pump relay module. Start and run engine. When sufficient fuel has been used to cause fuel line pressure to drop, injectors will become inoperative, resulting in engine stall. Switch off ignition. Disconnect negative battery cable.

The fuel in all fuel-injected vehicles run at a pressure, generally around 30-40 psi. IF you do not depress the system, fuel will spray out in all directions at the first place you 'open' to release the pressure. Very unsafe to even contemplate not depressurizing.
Note: can remove fuel pump fuse as alternative
to fuel relay removal.

Couple things to make life easier here - to depressurize - just press the schrader valve on the fuel rail while holding a rag over it - you'll be done in a few seconds.
No special tool needed for the retaining ring - just tap it around with a screwdriver
Make sure to coat both ends of the new fuel pump harness in dielectric grease before reinstalling
Be careful when loosening/tightening the compression fittings that connect the lines to the pump - use two wrenches so you don't stress either side.

Red, it's a Schrader valve On the fuel rail
It's on the fuel distribution rail, on top of the engine, on the passenger side (NAS) of the air plenum. It looks just like the valves on your tires...
If you push in the center pin, it opens the fuel system to atmosphere...

I had to depressurize my fuel system the other day to replace the fuel filter. It was easy, I just took the fuel pump fuse out, started the truck, and let it run till it died. then replaced the fuse. That was about as easy as it gets.
