I will be having it replaced soon, and wanted to know if there is anything I need to pay particular attention to? Type, model #, etc.?

Thanks

Biggest hassle is when they install the new windshield make sure you check for water leakage. Some people have a hard time putting new windshield in and making sure it seals correctly.

I put in a replacement windshield myself, and managed to get it in LOWER than the original one, thus experiencing leaks up top. Relatively easy to replace yourself, but not easy to make it watertight without using sealant.
Go for a heated windscreen if you haven't got airconditioner and live in wet and/or cold climate.

Heated windshields are great....when they work. Just had a brand new one replaced due to short. Cannot repair, must replace entire windshield.

If anyone has managed to get a heated windshield for a d1 in the USA I want to know pn etc. I've tried and noone seems to know - yet they were an option in the UK and standard on ES models over there
Thanks

Chris!
Did you ask LR Dealer or was it any autoglass company? Been checking around in Norway/on the net, and all of the autoglass shops can supply here.
Maybe it's a problem of not finding your vehicles year of manufacture in their lists, but any D1 are the same - you can also use a RR one as far as I have been able to measure. Reason for LR supplying different part# for Disco and RR seems to be the black "shading"...

I just had my windshield replaced on my 95 Disco and had it done by Hardy Glass in Apache Junction, AZ. They have been a customer of my alarm/stereo shop for a while so when I needed my windshield replaced I check with them. Steve, the owner, did a great job and he takes great care to make sure it is sealed well. If you are in the area and need one done give Steve a call at 480-288-4299.
Tell him Shane from Quality Sound refered you.
