bob, this board is based in the USA so 99.9% of us have land rover v8. there are a lot of other people reading and contributing from other countries. like Australia , UK and throughout Europe. so if you have questions fire away...

Bob,
How did your disco handle the flood there?

the MPI was sold in Europe and elsewhere.
The unit was a rover car unit better known as having a turbo attached and putting out 170 or so HP.
LR built some 2.0 defenders for the Italian police
Output 134bhp
top speed 98, 0-60 15.3 secs gave 32mpUKg @ 56mph = 26 MpUSg
take alook at www.ukcar.com for more details and photo of engine

Don't forget that in the UK we pay the equivalent of $5 for an imperial gallon of petrol. What this does is encourage us to buy more fuel efficient vehicles, hence the MPI and TDI Land Rovers.
These options are second best but the co2 emissions, that most of the world want reduced, hence the Kyoto agreement, are far less than the equivalent V8.

The Morgan Autoobile Company in England also uses the Land Rover V8 and 4 cyl engines for the US. The 8's are already emissions certified just like in a Disco or Rangie. Imagine 185 hp and only 2300 lbs!
