With a substantial spring lift, I have noticed some vehicles change the front control arms. How does this effect the drive shaft, as I presume the new control arms rotate the diff forward, making the drive shaft angle worse. Do you have to change other things along with the aftermarket control arms.

When your lift is 2" and better, reworking the radius arms to correct caster, pinion and spring pad angles generally will mean at that point your driveline angle is too great for your u joints to rotate properly without bind which then requires a DC(double cardon) driveshft. The angles arent totally correct for a DC shaft either, but they do seem to do the job to correct the problem as I have been running the above for 2 years now. I do think you will reduce bearing life in the joints but still you will get appreciable life from the bearings. You cant correct all the problems with the higher lifts 100%, you strike the happy workable medium.
Another solution is to rework the swivel ball holes to correct caster but that is precision, custom machine work. Reworking the arms also put the rear threaded end back into its correct position in the rear frame bushings. Its a give and take but doable.
