Are these run by the same group? If so, how come you can purchase stuff like springs and hardware from Expedition Exchange and only stickers from Discoweb?
By Ho Chung (Ho) on Monday, September 24, 2001 - 10:14 am: Edit |
discoweb and EE are not run by the same group.
discoweb now has more than stickers, we have video as well.
By Axel Haakonsen (Axel) on Monday, September 24, 2001 - 10:30 am: Edit |
DiscoWeb and Expedition Exchange are two different legal entities. DiscoWeb is based in New Jersey, while EE is a California company. Ho is involved with both, that may be where your confusion comes from. Kyle and I have nothing to do with EE, except that we have some of their stickers on our Disco's.

come on.....dweb offers more than that Ho. technical information, opinions, humor, personal insight, debate and yes stickers and a few videos. but most of this comes at no cost. well except when i pimp myself out on occassion.
maybe there is not a lot of commerce bought and sold here, but the information has been priceless by all means.
now when are those discoweb bikinis coming out??
By Bluegill (Bluegill) on Monday, September 24, 2001 - 11:02 am: Edit |
if you bought a sticker set, you already have that bikini: two medium stickers and one large sticker! just please don't post any pictures of you wearing it, garrett
By KJ on Monday, September 24, 2001 - 12:01 pm: Edit |
Don't slow the boy down, Bluegill, I for one wanna see.
Karen ;)
By Eric N (Grnrvr) on Monday, September 24, 2001 - 12:48 pm: Edit |
I sent Ho a picture of the strapless Discoweb bikini proto type for review about a month ago. I believe that they are still trying to find a fabric that turns clear when it gets wet or is out in direct sun light for longer then 20 minutes.
By KJ on Monday, September 24, 2001 - 01:05 pm: Edit |
Eric, you HUSSY, you! LOL!

Heathen!! ... He's a heathen, Karen!
And, I agree, "don't slow the boy down," I wanna see too!

you ladies are naughtier than i thought.
By gp (Garrett) on Monday, September 24, 2001 - 02:38 pm: Edit |
well i am afraid that the 'large' dweb stickers just won't cover 'it'.
Ho.......you got any jumbos??
and besides i don't want to be considered a disco web hussy like eric!!!
By no Im not gay on Monday, September 24, 2001 - 02:45 pm: Edit |
damn, boy, is your ass that big?
By gp (Garrett) on Monday, September 24, 2001 - 03:50 pm: Edit |
i have no idea who posted that other message......must have been my alter ego
ps: they don't make 'em big enough for my ass yet. i'm a 34/36, but pushing onward as i have peaked 30 years old this past year.
pss: i just wanted to let everyone know that Fox has reached a new low......."Who Wants to be a Princess" was on this evening........and i watched it. therefore i reached a new low as well. not only on this site, but in real life.
By Eric N (Grnrvr) on Monday, September 24, 2001 - 04:42 pm: Edit |
Well, GP unfortunately you were not alone in watching that trash. My fiance was watching it so I ended up watching it too.. And here comes my "HEATHEN" comment ladies.. He still picked the girl with the boobs. I'm suprised he didn't ask the one girl for a ride on his boat since she likes them so much (another Heathen comment) But, really look what they have on tomorrow night for our viewing pleasure. The "Lust Boat" sure to be another quality FOX production.. Oh, and glad to see that us men are not the only Hussy Heathen around here ladies.. I like it
By KJ on Monday, September 24, 2001 - 05:05 pm: Edit |
Jesus, now Eric wants to be a Princess, too. LOL!
HRH Karen ;)
By KJ on Monday, September 24, 2001 - 05:07 pm: Edit |
Kim,
I think Garrett is back-peddling, eh? Hey GP, 30 sounds young enough for a flash or two to me! Kim? Second opinion?

By gp (Garrett) on Tuesday, September 25, 2001 - 02:19 am: Edit |
um....the phone just rang. hold on.......
it's my mom.....i have to go home. she found my DiscoRider mags again!!!!!
ps: i am not sure what to do about these 'ladies' eric. you have to come up with something witty, since i am a no go on this one.
pss: as for the great show. i left as the last interviews were happening. i could not take it....the first girl was crying. it was to much for me to handle. but i heard (from my girlfriend)that the girl he picked sounded the 'coolest'. even though she did look like a porn star at times. that prince was just a little bugger....and driving the bently off on their dream date was a little much.
but i can't wait for the new love cruise this evening. what great stuff Fox has come up with.
By gp (Garrett) on Tuesday, September 25, 2001 - 02:25 am: Edit |
all i can come up with is grandpa garrett pics. he should be a fair indicator.
By Bill Leek on Tuesday, September 25, 2001 - 04:59 am: Edit |
Have never considered myself a prude, but I do believe that picture goes too far. Ho, I suggest removing it from this board. Freedom of speech and expression does not include indiscriminate distribution of pornographic material on a publicly-accessible website.
By Eric N (Grnrvr) on Tuesday, September 25, 2001 - 05:07 am: Edit |
No Karen, I could never be a princess as I'm lacking a few things in that department.. You know, I don't have the wave down and I can't seem to raise my pinky when drinking beer. Oh, and then there is that other issue that I'm a guy.
By gp (Garrett) on Tuesday, September 25, 2001 - 05:31 am: Edit |
um...i would have to question whether this is really 'pornographic' there bill. it's not real buddy. (not sure how it could be taken as such) this was taken during a very mild Mardi Gras parade.
but then again.....how did we go from EE talk to this.
ps: i'm not a prude either....prune at times yes, but no prude.
By Bill Leek on Tuesday, September 25, 2001 - 05:34 am: Edit |
Perhaps not pornographic, but certainly very offensive.
By Eric N (Grnrvr) on Tuesday, September 25, 2001 - 05:47 am: Edit |
Yes, you're right.. The white socks pulled all the way up are very offensive.
By Danno on Tuesday, September 25, 2001 - 05:56 am: Edit |
i thought it was the Busch beer in the picture...
By Kyle on Tuesday, September 25, 2001 - 06:15 am: Edit |
Bill the females havnt complained and if anyone should be bothered by it I think it would have been them. We like to leave things be for the most part. If it offends you , dont look...

BAhahahahahaha!!!!! ... Just got back online, and I almost fell over laughing. Good one, Garret! I'll admit, we asked for it, LOL!

I used to live in New orleans..., that photo bring back memeories--happy ones I mean.
By Bill Leek on Tuesday, September 25, 2001 - 01:38 pm: Edit |
Kyle,
My point, in part, is that it does offend me because I access this site to learn more about, and discuss with others, my Discovery and Land Rovers in general, not to see such photos, doctored or not. I didn't have any choice the first time I scrolled down this thread but to look. Neither does anyone else. Such photos do not belong on a Land Rover site.
By Kyle on Tuesday, September 25, 2001 - 01:52 pm: Edit |
This general section is a free for all and I view it as friends around a camp fire. Sometimes friends say some dumb shit but that doesnt mean we exile them or their thoughts. There is plenty here aside from the general section. If we start that then any one of us could say we are offended by any other here and pitch a fit. Some could even say they are offended by your remarks of the human body... You dig ?
Kyle
By KJ on Tuesday, September 25, 2001 - 03:50 pm: Edit |
If you're looking for one female's perspective, I'm not offended but I'm pretty easy going until someone acts like an idiot. Or asks me about religion (G). O.k., so you don't have to even ASK much to get me going, but once more I digress. Bill, on "General" pretty much anything goes I guess. I'd say try to roll with it as best you can.

bill, if you only knew what other things are hidden in this site.

Bill Chill Out. If you have small penis (is that word ok ) please don't take it out on GP's Grandpa.
If anyone goes wheeling with you at least they will know where to find a stick if they need to see how deep a hole is.
Life is to short Bill

I'm not offended by the picture, but it sure makes work uncomfortable for those of us who surf DiscoWeb at work, and our secretaries can see our computer screens!
By Bill Leek on Wednesday, September 26, 2001 - 03:32 am: Edit |
I believe my point is valid. This is a Land Rover site, not an "adult-content" site. My children, and perhaps others, are Land Rover fans. There is no "check" to prevent them or other children, or other adults who don't want to view such photos from seeing this material on this site. Obviously, others feel different. That's your prerogative.
But, I haven't insulted anyone on this site, and don't deserve the insults noted in the above messages.
By Axel Haakonsen (Axel) on Wednesday, September 26, 2001 - 04:04 am: Edit |
I tend to agree with tomorover and Bill Leek on this one. I am not a prude by any strech of the imagination, but I am in an open office environment, and viewing adult type pictures is against my offices policy. If the discussion about the picture above hadn't started, the picture would probably have been gone already, but I decided to let it slide since it the picture had some relevance to the posts following it. But going forward, please use some judgement when posting pictures even in the General section.
By MTB on Wednesday, September 26, 2001 - 04:07 am: Edit |
That is life Bill. There will alway be something that someone will offended by everything out there. To put controls on something that one or more don't like than we should change our countries name to China where things are controled. Alot of things are on TV and I'm not talking just cable that offend me but I change the channel. Yes you have a good point about kids that may see that but they will see or say worse thing than a fake penis. so than it comes down too parental control. The one thing people hate worse is when people try to contol what we say,see or do in our lives.

If you're on this site, you're old enough to have a drivers license. You're children shouldn't be on this site unsupervised. It's a site for people who own or whom are inquiring about Land Rover Discoveries. If that's not you, then you don't need to be here.
As for adults who don't like the content, those adults should, hopefully, have sufficienctly mature motor skills to hit the appropriate key to move to a new area.
If you want to be offended, read the thread about the WTC bombing, the gun threads, or the Mr. Peanut threads. I'm sure material there is offensive to some people.
If you're going to get worked up over content, there are plenty of legitimate points to make on this board versus being upset over a cartoonish picture of a Bob Hope look-a-like flasher.

If I were paying for access to this site then yes I would be offeneded by having some of the stuff posted on here that is. But since this site is a source of knowledge and entertainment for us and we are lucky that these guys have created this site for us to use as reference and knowledge. Imagine how much money you save by just having this site as a reference and how many people no matter what race, religion, location, gender, etc... are here willing to help and inform. I take no offence to any of this an just take it in stride. Everyone is free to their opinions and I am free to mine. There are worse places on the internet and just by typing one letter wrong in an address can give you embarrassing pages. I am sorry people feel offended but when someting is supplied for you, you don't ask for something to be done just to your liking. We all like to be able to voice our opinions and if people resond back with their own then that is fine, to each their own. Thanks to the guys providinig this site for me. I have learned a lot and keep learning. It has helped me from getting my candy taken from the big bad dealer man. Also, saved me money and allowing me to meet great people.

Since I am one of the guys who own this site, I stand by my earlier request of using some common sense when posting pictures here. I don't like to have to censor anything, but every now and then I have to. That has nothing to do with free speach. Since Kyle, Ho and I actually pay for this site, we ultimately decide what stays and what goes...
By Chris Merritt (Smokinbro) on Wednesday, September 26, 2001 - 07:27 am: Edit |
I found this site entirely by accident. It is excellent with an enormous amount of information to assist Disco owners. Axel, Ho and Kyle have done an amazing job.
While the photo may have been in bad taste, please do not bow to pressure to censor the site.
There is plenty worse out there on other automotive webboards. In fact there is plently of objectional material on TV.
I believe that it incumbent on those who post to use a little discression on what you post - and for those who find objectional material, screen your objections through what is freely available on TV on other sites.
use a little common sense.....
the site is an incredible resource - do let the quality of posts degrade to character assassinations and useless information like so many other web forums.
Axel, Ho, Kyle - keep up the good work - I like it just the way it is - no more - no less.

OK...Ok..the "Big brother" attitude is close to over. But I had to point out something I found interesting while scrolling this thread?
Bill was never involved in the conversation (even after the "I'm not GAY" posting, ubtil after the picture was presented. Let's embrace the fact that sometimes the negative brings us all closer together by opening doors that have been shut to us before. Thoughout our lives we are confronted with ideas, beliefs and generally people that will cause us some discomfort, but it is HOW we love that makes life!!
CREEEEKKK!! CRACKK....CRASH....OUCH..(Rubbing my head)...That soapbox was much too old and high!!
HAve fun in life boyz and girlz....that's why we own (lease) our ROVERS!!!!
By mike w on Wednesday, September 26, 2001 - 11:02 am: Edit |
ok you are all correct, it is a bit more than we would normally see here.let me ask this, have you or your children seeen worse, proberly, if you would have been at the annual party in orleans and had seen this what would have been your reaction? the same i hope. as far as your kids, you should be there with them ensuring that they are seeing items on the web that is approiate to their age group. no insult intended and if you are i am sorry...
