i think it mostly depends to what you are planning on doing with the rover. if you just want to drive around town like a car, then i would want more power!!!! (hell, i want more power at any time)

LOL , gearing. Big power breaks things. Big power with the wrong gearing breaks more things. Think about the items between a big power engine and the gears. They take the brunt of the force.. When you regear you ofcourse apply more torque to diffs and the axles , but it ends there...
