I remember getting stuck for a short time on a narrow stretch of beach in the OBX in the Disco as the tide was coming in. Managed to self recover in time (because the beach was deserted), but it was a bit nerve wracking being stuck 3 ft from the water as the tide came in!
Also tried to pull out a guy in a full size Bronco on Assateague Island once - he had tried to cross something that looked shallow (but wasn't ) - never did get him out even with a few other trucks pulling and remember just watching the tide come in a fill his truck up!
Not a fun thing.........

Only beach experience I have with the Disco is the latest 4th of july weekend, in Port Aransas, TX. Went down to the beach late at night and saw some other 4x4s like an old Dodge Ram Charger (the suv), and others.
They were climbing the dunes so I figured I would give it a try. They all had huge lifts, I am at stock height, and they all had huge wide tires, I have stock Michelins. I mad it just as far as they did, when I pulled up to talk to the guy, I gave him a comment on the cool old truck. He said that his could do everything and "MORE" than mine could but he spent a 4th of the money. Ha Ha
That is rich, but I just agreed with him and went on my way, those guys will never understand.
BTW, I will never take my Disco back to the beach, %$#@ing SAND -- EVERYWHERE!
