According to Car and Driver on line
"The H2 won't go everywhere an H1 with its offset hubs and central tire-inflation system can go, but ample ground clearance and steep approach and departure angles mean the H2 will certainly penetrate farther into the wild than could a Suburban. And most important, the H2 will get there for a lot less money and in greater comfort than the military-vehicle-based H1 can."
Land Rover will now have NO competition on the new market, thanks to the YUPPER, I mean Hummer H2.
THIS THING SUCKS ASS!

It is UGLY!!! Isn't it really just an avalanche? This is why I say we're better ford bought LR than GM. That could be the new D-90, wouldn't that be scary!!!!!!!

No, William I'm not a cop but, it would work very nicely along with my night vision goggles. Just some thing cool to play with.

Anybody know if it'll have a diff-lock or some variation thereof? Any other mods that'll help it off road?
If not, so it really has nothing to do with a hummer except for body styling ques?
What kind of dollars are they asking for this clown car?
By MA on Friday, September 28, 2001 - 10:58 am: Edit |
It doesn't have a diff lock. I don't think it has TC either. I believe that the pricing will start at $47,000. They will continue to sell the H1 for ~$100000.

The H2 will have a rear locker and traction control, and maybe an optional front one. The info that I posted earlier was on the prototype from ~2 years ago. It will also feature a HD version of GM's 5-link live axle in the rear. The front suspension is a modified version of Chevy's 2500HD pick-up. The tranny is a full-time 4wd Borg Warner unit. The thing ways almost 6400lbs and has a 6.0L V8 producing 325hp.
