I wish we had something like this for our trucks.
There for a jeep. They adjust your spring height to fix and sag or new winch or lean and act like a cone when getting flexi. Defiantly not Rover pricing there only 100.00 ea!

Wow. That is pretty cool. A drop kit too.

hmmm,
i can see it on the rear of a disco but front end would need major redesign... looks pretty bad.
john @ rovertym? any ideas?

Looks to me the spring riding up and down if used as a cone would eat your threads up....but its interesting, I dont know why yet, but its interesting. But the more I look...its just eqating to an adjustible cone.Or if retained, adjustible lift.

LOL , I have been down that road already with the coil overs. You end up with some serious noise and yeah the threads get eaten off...

you know it don't look like threads there... just a threaded like surface for grip for the adjustable clamping ring.
i like my sls better. nice and stock

Could always spray some remington rem-dri-lube on it. That would help quite is down and not rip up the ribs as fast. Works good on my gun barrels. Would also probably work pretty well to keep drop cones quite as well.

"just a threaded like surface for grip for the adjustable clamping ring."
You said it...threads for the ring to screw up and down on...thds would get eaten off if used as a cone...thats got to be a lift adj. for tuning shock travel with spring travel. But its still interesting...also expensive to make unless you do a hundred. If it had a use it would be simple on the front as well with outside shock mounts.
Looks like its just a jeep thang...but interesting.

I take that back....serations or grooves, its not a thread...Clamping collar is the stop, spring sleeve can slide...I still think its for tuning shocks to spring lenght...damn expensive for a cone use.

Its all threaded just like a coil over is. Threads are so fine they look like straight grooves. The boys out west can run em off pretty cheap if you want em but the rover coil over isnt wound tight up top like a TJ is .That one there is no different then the regular shock bodies they make all the time so the stock and the nut are standard items.
Outside shock mounts,,,,,oh no,,,not that....

There are applications for front outside shock mounts...

lol , yeah , I saw them on some of the lawn chair trucks.. They seem to like them outside shock mounts. Having he shock in there all nice and warm and out of the way is just a beautiful thing. Its space that otherwise wouldnt be used.. I suppose though if you bouy some sexy shocks with the sexy bootys on em you want o be showing that off... lol.. Does it ever end.....

You would think with some of the 3"+ lifts that the LTR shocks cant be contained in the spring not b/c of length but b/c of the ideal angle of compression and expansion--due to screwing with the original dynamics in the front end. No it will never end . . . until the LR becomes a Bronco

John,
What if the cone section were to cover the entire lower portion of the adjuster. Similar to the thread protection sleave on a motorcycle shock. Would the cones be adjustable then and survive the wear?

Lol, I was speaking of the LWB with front outside shocks.
Steve, for those who want cones, lets keep them simple and affordable IMO,but to answer your question..Yes.
