I am looking for a cargo basket which connects to the hitch receiver (like a swing away bike rack). I have found one advertised at British Atlantic which fits a Range Rover, but not for the Discovery. Any ideas? Here is the basket I'm referring to. Thanks.

same thing... there are a bunch of hitch baskets out there, if you you look in and off road magazine.

I think that Trevor from TMS might still have one for sale. He'd probably make you a good deal.

Try Pep Boyz. They have one that cost around $70.00 It looks to be of good quality for the price. I met a guy that had one and he was using it on his van for a trip from Florida to California. It fits into the 2" reciever.

Wow, a do it yourself kit for $29 bucks, that is a deal.
I have been thinking about making a dog kennel on one of those, looks like the solution.

This is the one I want to get, it folds up and out, pretty much everything you could ask for...

thanks, Jay!
I do have a basket that fits in a Disco receiver or any other 2" hitch. The basket is 2'x4' and approx 6" high. The basket is welded square tubing and is made by Warrior Products. Ihave put a fair amount of weight approximately 200 lbs and then stood on it (again, another 200lbs. Ok, really like 215), so it is very strong. Would love to sell it. I could bring it to the MAR next weekend if you are in the Mid Atlantic area.

FYI, I just picked up the rack from Harbor Freight Jim mentioned and like it. Paid $45 +tax. Here are links to photos

Door opens fine without any cargo on it. Supposed to handle up-to 500lbs. If I put that much wieght on it I'd sure make sure it was balanced.
