I can't complain about mine so far, and they've taken some pretty good hits.

I have the Atlantic British units, and I believe they are the best out there for thesese reasons.

1) They are made out of 1/4 or 3/16 metal

2) They are fully galvanised unlike the rest of the rover

3) They use two bolts to secure them so they are not going to come off if you crank them good.

4) The bottom/front of them is curved which allows the diff to slide over rocks and not just push them. Because it is bent metal, there is no weld to crack, and the curvature of the entire unit increases its strength. Compare that to a $G unit.

5) What makes the safari gard unit better: paint and a sticker

PS. If my memmory is right, AB are about 100 for two, don't hold me to that though.

according the the AB website a pair of their diff guards is $189
I have the SG units on my rig and they perform perfectly. I also spot welded them in place, for added security.

hmmmm i like the sliding over rocks feature....but it see,s like those that hav them have whacked em...hmm any one with more negative or ositive feedback..do the safety gard ones pop off easier than the ab ones? thanks for all responses..

hmmmmm, give it time and those skimpy $G guards will be out the window. Mantec makes a solid guard that will either bolt on or weld on. I recently laid my eyes on the SG guards and compared to the Mantec they are thinner and the front vertical edge appears to be welded rather than pressed. I think the Mantec is less likely ot fail.

You can find the Mantec guards here and maybe cheaper elsewhere.

Not sure on what the shipping would be internationally, but they are well made beasts.
