Hi everyone,

I am looking for a solution to increase my lift
and I am sure some of you have great ideas.

My actual setup is :

Disco '97, TDI300 manual
Both sawybars gone...
Front : OME HD + OME shocks
Rear : OME MD + OME shocks

I have measured the lift to be +4 cm (+1.5 inch)
over stock.

I would like to come closer to 2 or 2.5 inches because
this seems to be the most popular lift height without
running into driveline vibes problems.

I know some will say : get RTE 2" lift ...

I would love to, but I am living in New Caledonia,
in the middle of the south pacific and it would cost
me A LOT to import these springs from USA to here :-(
Too bad (nearly more shipping charges than goods).

Therefore, as I am happy with the handling of my OME
setup, I was wondering if you could give me some advices
to build custom 1/2" to 1" front lift blocks or spring spacers.

For the rear it is easy and ready to install already.

But for the front, because of the shock mount it is quite difficult.

Any idea ? Pictures welcome :-)

Do anyone run OME Trim packers in the front ? How are they doing ?
I was told they were not that good in time.
Any user feedback to confirm that ?

I was also thinking of relocating front shock mount or extending
it's leg to compensate for the lift (with higher bumpstop accordingly),
but I had someone well known on this list made me a very clear
demonstration it was not an issue. Thank you again for your time JL.

Thank you in advance for the advice.

Best regards to all.

Erik.

The best thing to do is to run the OME spring packers front and rear for a total lift. I have a left hand drive vehicle and installed one 5 mm and one 10 mm on the drivers side springs and two 10 mm packers on the passenger side. This helped to level the vehicle from side to side. Put one packer on the top of the spring and the other on the bottom for each spring. I also noticed this quieted the spring "chatter" from washboard style roads. One last thing, your springs will need to be retained because if the rear drops out the packer will fall off. The lift from this is exactly the amount of packers you use. You can not put two of them on one end of the spring though (they will squeeze out). I have put over 25,000 miles on my vehicle since installing and have had zero problems. Just my experience.

Hi Scott,

thank you for your feedback on using OME trim packers.

This might be the easiest solution for me I guess as we have an OME rep in New Caledoia.

Thanks again.

Erik.
