I have the opportunity to buy a 99 DII for around $19,000. Car is coming off lease. Are there any problems with the 4wd system I should know about? Do the sunroofs leak? If I can get a warrantee, should I worry about this stuff? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.
Beaner.

I have a DI so I can't say much about what you asked. What I can tell you is that's a very good price-assuming it doesn't have a million miles.

You should still be covered under the manufacturer's warranty - assuming the milage isn't over 50K.

Is anything a specific problem area though? Is there stuff I can definitely expect to go haywire, or am I just taking the ordinary risk of buying a used car?

Thanks.

Beaner,

I've had my 2000 D2 since last July and the problems that I've had came pretty early on. Leaky radiator and a leaky steering pump. Both were fixed under warranty and i haven't had a problem since. In the series 2s I haven't heard of any major problems. In fact, I've only heard of small bugs here and there.

I don't have ACE and I don't have SLS, which also added to some bugs in the 99 model. Assuming reasonable mileage, that's not a bad deal. Although, I just found out that my 2000 model is only worth about $24000.
