check with Amtrak or Greyhound. they ship really large items MUCH cheaper than UPS and USPS.

i shipped a arb bull bar with winch from lax to o'hare via delta freight. all these freight fowarders to is go to delta anyway. the cost was $125. so if the dud who sold you the rack will go to his local int'l airport he can send it to your local int'l airport.

if you have never been to an airfreight terminal - the delta one at lax is like a scene from the movie 'outlander', weirdly lighted, people from all over the 3rd and 4th world. definately and experience! live tropical fish by the pallet in brown boxes, dead bodies, flowers, you name it!

ken,
d1 and d2 rear doors are interchangeable last i hear. so whatever ladder jmon has should fit your d2.
greyhound is the cheapest i hear for shipping large packages... drawbacks.. takes a bit longer and you have to pick it up for cost effectiveness.

Yea, greyhound is slow. I shipped a bike three years ago. I still don't have it...
