I've already started saving :)

Although if I plan to keep my Disco 5 years, then I need to be putting away over £650 a month!!! :(

Oh well. Maybe I can mortgage the house again to pay for my addiction. hehe.

Hate to say it, but why not just get a Sniper from Avalanche Engineering?

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of pageLink to this message   By Bill Bettridge (Billb) on Thursday, October 04, 2001 - 07:53 am: Edit

Cause it doesn't say "ROVER" on the front! :) :)

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of pageLink to this message   By Leslie N. Bright (Leslie) on Thursday, October 04, 2001 - 08:00 am: Edit

It doesn't say Rover, either, it says "Bowler"...

But you're right, it IS a Defender front, so it "says" it although it doesn't.... :)

Thanks, Bill. Is that Bowler thing a Rover product? Or is it hybrid like the Ivex? Looks pretty cool, kind of like the little Isuzu sports car/4X4 beast.

I pass LR Scottsdale every day on the way home from the office - two days ago there were news crews there showcasing the new Freelander. They got 5 in stock that day. Those are pretty nice little wagons. The Channel 3 news hottie strapped herself in the passenger seat, microphone firmly grasped, and they did the "coarse" with cameras rolling. I was over talkin to the dealers, and as they watched, they were saying "sure hope it doesn't flip on the side angle section..." All it did was lift a rear wheel on the side angle descent. Pretty impressive for a little Rover beast that looks like a simple grocery-bag hauler.

I dig it it looks like a D90 from a Back to the future movie

Bill - you may want to wait until they have all the "bugs" worked out of the NAS model. Our club prez put over 1000 miles on one and had a ton of problems - so much so that he didn't buy one (and he's a Rover nut)

I realize you're probably not about to run out and buy one, but figured I'd throw in my second hand $.02 about the Freelander

I hate to admit it, but that Rock 90(by $G) seems pretty damn cool. Go here to check it out: http://www.safarigard.com/Project%20D90.htm

The top 5ltr 6-speed beastie is £40,000 approx. Saw it in action on a TV programme called "Pulling Power" here in the UK.

Anyone wanna buy a wife?

Horness, does she cook? I'll take her if she does, my husband will be thrilled to get out of the kitchen.

Yeah, she cooks, cleans, irons, and is house trained.
Makes a good guard dog and companion to any family.

Reason For Sale: Developed a serious whine shortly after marriage. After many hours spent under bonnet, owner is unable to find the source of the infuriating rattle!
