Has anyone done this. When I ordered my shafts from GBR Bill said getting the old flange off can be a pain something about a pin? that if it would break than I have more problems. I have not looked at it yet just wondering if a average DIY sould tackle it or just have the dealer remove the flange.

There is a center locating pin in the middle rotoflex pinion flange. You need a puller that will brace itself on the arms (3) of the flange and pull the pin from the center. The center pin is held in by friction and/or blue loctite. If your rotoflex was worn enough the pin might come out without force, but I doubt it. You will then need to pull the flange off of the pinion. When you put the new style four bolt u-joint flange you will need a spacer (get this from Land Rover or GBR) on the pinion before the flange to maintain correct bearing tension or differential will self destruct. I did the swap in my driveway with a less than perfect puller assembly. I should of used the opportunity get a better puller.

Actually, I believe it's held in by RED loctite. On mine, a puller did no good at all. You may have to use the standard foil for red loctite - lot's of heat. LOT'S of heat, not that wimpy propane torch version of heat...

Yes, you CAN do it yourself - just be advised that you MAY get so far in that your truck will be undrivable and you will need pro help...s**t happens.
