Just wondering if there is anyone with Discos over 200K. We all might benefit from your secrets of maintaining your vehicle. Thanks.

I have a 94 DI that just turned 220K. It has the original engine, tranny, tcase, etc. No major problems over the years, starter & alternator still original. I am the third owner. Lots of highway miles, but has been off-roaded too. I think, IMHO, that regular maintenace, ie. oil & filter changes are the key to longevity of the major systems. Electrics are another thing altogether, and that seems to be luck of the draw and how much things are meddled with. Change the oil, every 3K, use a good filter and service the tranny & tcase & swivels as needed. Oil, filters and labor are cheap if you do it yourself. Don't forget to change the air & fuel filters too. If you use it hard, change more frequently. Also, don't be afraid to do it yourself....or get a TRUSTED independant mechanic to touch it. Stay away from dealers unless it's a warranty job. MTCW

Not quite to 200K miles yet but I intend to be there, and far beyond.
