A friend of mine read about this high output ignition system:10% increase in fuel mileage and torque increase with 30 day money back guarantee.
Is this system any good and what parts are replaced ?
Anyone try it or heard of it? (96 DI)

There are plenty of HEI and Capacitive Discharge systems on the market. Jacobs is NOT one of them. If your friend REALLY wants a good CD ignition system , take a look at the digital ignition boxes from MSD, and Crane. I've known at least 10 people who have tried this thing. 8 of them sent it back, one person said they got no increase in mileage but throttle response was improved, and the last said she liked the system and it was working well (no mileage increase though)

In order to get better fuel mileage, you've got to use less fuel per stroke (or increase power per stroke). The only way to do that is to either inject less fuel into the chamber which would cause a lean condition, or burn more of the fuel already in the cylinder. A strong, multiple spark CAN do that, but there are a ton of other factors at play. I'd look at a good port/polish and chamber polish before I'd start fooling with induction boxes.
