I have mine now 3-1/2 years and have really put them to the test at times and they're still ready for more. I wouldn't hesitate a minute to recommend them.

How much do they cost?

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of pageLink to this message   By lcubed on Tuesday, October 09, 2001 - 10:44 pm: Edit

last time i checked, (back when they were still called bear bars),
the ECR sliders were custom fitted to each vehicle since the slider
actually tied into the frame. so the vehicle needed to be present
at the ECR shop for fitment. of course, things may have changed...

I checked with ECR on this for my DII a few months back. They did want my ride to be present (4 hour trip one way) and priced them at approximately $675. Go with RTE...

ECR Makes the best Rox Sliders available!!!

If I were you I would consider using them, I did!!

They built my 5 door D110 into a 4 door D110 Tdi300n with galvanized frame, Bunks, dormobile conversion, stove, hot water shower, CB, ARB fridge/freezer, might mouse II GPS antenna, SafariGard front Bullbar, $G rear tire carrier modified to withstand the extreme enviroments, OME suspension, HD joints, Hella 4000 lights, wilderness roof rack, Garmin GPS III+, ECR Rox Sliders, WARN Winch (soon to be G12), Pelican cases out the *** for gear and clothing, invertor, and a whole lot more

it truely is a pure expedition beast!!

go to eastcostrovers.com and check out my B2B 19 110.

I am very pleased with the work.

Dude ,
That is a great truck ,but what did a project like that run ? 100k + is my guess a TDi conversion alone is $20K - $25k . They do really nice work ,but to get the sliders you have to bring your truck there . Would you consider adopting me ? I wont keep the 110 out past my curfew I promise .

Thank you, I like it!! The job was closer to 140k. I bought the 110 California 2 years ago. I thank god am very satisfied with the work.

Actually I heard you can get a Tdi conversion for around 11k that is high quality work. If this is true I am not happy

I hope in the future to use them again!

The door a little "dented?" No actually everything was replaced that was not in perfect condition! I did not reaally feel this was necessary but ECR did!

140,000 freakin dollars for a 110 - I'm glad that you're happy with the truck and don't mean to be rude, but

bigtime LOL :)

Driver Name:
Paul Sipe, B2B-19 (TA98, TA99, TA00, TA01)
Age: 50 years young
Occupation: General Surgeon
Location: York, Pennsylvania USA

Interesting as this is listed on the B-B site.

Why big time LOL? That's what shit cost when you want it perfect and someone does it for you. Seems like a better deal than a fringen top of the line benz to me.

buy brian's disco for 20K and you still have 120K left over for a townhouse or 60 years worth of gas.

:)

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of pageLink to this message   By michel on Tuesday, October 23, 2001 - 12:59 pm: Edit

But then all you have is brians Disco....

Michel

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of pageLink to this message   By Ron on Tuesday, October 23, 2001 - 01:01 pm: Edit

You could buy my dormobile 110.

I will take 1/2 what the white one cost. You will have to wait for me to put the 300Tdi drivetrain in it though.

Ron

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of pageLink to this message   By Bill Bettridge (Billb) on Tuesday, October 23, 2001 - 01:09 pm: Edit

LOL - because you can go buy a brand new 300Tdi 110 County from Conrico for about UK22,000, take it apart, ship it over, and then still do anything you want to it for a hell of alot less than the $105,000 left over!

So no, thats not what shit costs :) - That's what people pay......

Sorry, but a Rover is not worth the price of a house in my book.....

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of pageLink to this message   By gp (Garrett) on Tuesday, October 23, 2001 - 01:11 pm: Edit

......no you would have a monster disco AND 120K to fly all your friend to club super sex in montreal for a kick ass party for a month.

on the other hand if you pay 140K for a tricked out 110 you can have all those same friends just laugh and say WTF did you just do.

i don't care what the end result is........140K for a truck......it's still just a truck. a nice truck.......but still.

:)

Hmmm , I wouldnt be flying all my buddies out just yet. What cash are you gonna use to fix the "Monster" then? Better keep some handy....

Ahhhh,

We'll, I've sold more expensive home stereo systems. Can you do it cheaper, of course. Is it worth taking your time to do it cheaper yourself? I guess it depends on how you make your money and the value you place on your spare time. You preffer to run around for deals, or just take the beast all prepared and go offroad?

just don't tip the ladies heavily and you should be fine. and the canadian dollar is very weak, so attempting to spend that kind of cash would be tough. then again......maybe you have lots of friends. :)

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of pageLink to this message   By skeptical on Tuesday, October 23, 2001 - 01:27 pm: Edit

don't personally know Dr. Sipe and/or whoever CK Disco II is, yet, a little skeptical that CK Disco II owns the truck. All the items listed are on ECR's site for anyone to "claim" ownership. so, did it really cost 140k??? Even for ECR that's a hunk of coin. just doesn't sound like a surgeon talking to me.

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of pageLink to this message   By ron on Tuesday, October 23, 2001 - 01:28 pm: Edit

Yes,

Being around rovers you see there are people who just want the best and it does not matter what it costs. Someday I hope to be one of those people.

Ron

I will take a couple audio research reference 600 mono blocks and a set of grand slams thank you.

I agree with blue gil, but damn, you don't need to incorporate what you have and how much you spent every time you write a message.

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of pageLink to this message   By Leslie N. Bright (Leslie) on Tuesday, October 23, 2001 - 11:23 pm: Edit

Ah, I'm wit ya now....
I took it and ran in the wrong direction with that... it's late, must sleep now.... :)

And, since everyone else is mentioning it... I'll play lemming too....

Uh, CK... it's not that we're not interested in what's on your Rovers, or learning about them, or sharing what we might happen to know, or etc. etc., I mean really, most of us are Roverholics...

I think I'm hitting it pretty square on when I say that a lot of us really wish that we could spend that much on a Rover, but have no way to do such... I've got 2 more years of payments on a plain-jane Disco, a middle-class salary, no "family money", two chilluns and another on the way, the wife's a schoolteacher (ie., she works 10 times harder than I do every day for half the pay!), we're wanting to build a house but are having to wait a couple of years until we get enough saved up for a down-payment on a construction loan, and my student loans total up to about what a D110's market value is... I'll be paying that off until I retire in 28 years from now... If I had the cash in your 110 alone, I'd be debt-free and have a new house underway...

I don't begrudge you your money or toys one bit, I recognize that you've worked to earn it; and yes, it's a little bit of jealously... not quite resentment, but definately a touch of envy...

At least, I 'think' that is what a lot of the guys here are trying to say. We all love Rovers, so with that goes that we're probably not destitute penniless rustbucket-Jeep drivers :), but most of us aren't "upper crust"....

Hope I haven't stepped on any toes.....

I would like to know why it was important enough for JT to bother and post information about CK to this site? Is this some sort of e-terrorism? That revealing CK's identity is supposed to scare him in shutting up?

I think that kind of behaviour is unwarranted and wrong.

So, this CK has money to burn and he burned it on a D110. Why does that bother so many of you? If he has the money and wants to burn it, this is America - we are allowed to burn money in this country.

I agree that his approach is troubling. His seemingly incessant need to boast about his truck in every post in a self-glorifying manner is in poor taste, but is that enough to get yourself worked up over? To harass him and his personal life over?

His B2B call number is 19 - if you don't like his posting method just be sure to avoid him when you see him at a rally.

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of pageLink to this message   By MTB on Tuesday, October 23, 2001 - 10:46 pm: Edit

Jay the only problem I see is, I don't think that CK is Paul Sipe The real B2B19. I only met him one time back in 99 and never came off like CK. So if CK is a imposter he should be brought out as one. Personally if someone would claim to be me in that position (B2B) I would be pissed. Not that they say they are #19 but how they come off doing it. Because everytime you see B2B rig and it has a # 19 You will say OH there is that self glorifying _ _ _. And I don't think Paul is that way, but like I said I only met him once.

dear leslie,

your right I did come over that way, sorry! i was not trying to push my success's on anyone here by making those statements. However, someone asked me the price of what the vehicle cost and i responded. i am not the type of person to be bragocious of my things. Ever!

CK,

That's cool.... I mean, if someone asks, I'd assume that it's because they want to know...

I do kinda agree with whoever signed as "Rover Envy"... if ya ever have need of having someone drive your Rovers a bit more than you have time for.... :)

Michael B-

I understand where you are coming from and your concern for the possible mis-use of someone's identity. However, I do not recall CK's proof of identity in question. It seems to me that the posting of JT was meant to harass and intimidate CK simply because some people did not agree with the manner of CK's posting.

And as with anything on the Internet, the intended implication and meaning of the writer is easily dented, distorted and miscommunicated by the writing and the interpretation of the readers. How often have each of us seen innocent remarks interpreted in an offensive way by others?

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of pageLink to this message   By JT on Wednesday, October 24, 2001 - 09:28 am: Edit

Michael B -

Just to clarify my intent regarding CK's identity, it is exactly to what MTB is referring. There was no aim of harassment or intimidation on my part. The posting was for people to question is this really Dr. Sipe? Would you like someone claiming your identity?? I would not. Also refer to MTB's other thread regarding the subject. Sorry for the confusion.
