I know that Snorkels are pretty much useless for wading with gas engines. But do snorkels increase gas mileage at all. If so where can you get them and how much should I expect to pay? Thanks

Snorkels help with gas engines in that you do not get water into the intake so the worst that happens is you fry the electrics rather than hydrolock the engine. Gas milage, is kinda a wash as the snorkel has to be a really wide diameter to get as much air as the stock set up (they are not) but you get cold air with a snorkel.

Rover Accessories and Rovers North sell the Mantec snorkel. That is the one that I like the most. It runs about $400.00. ARB produces a 'Safari Snorkel' as well, but I can't tell you much about it.
LoL,

The cheapest places I found for the ARB version are http://www.rocky-road.com/snorkel.html
and
