What is the best and cheapest price Safari/brush guard that will fit on a 97 D1 without modifying the existing bumper. I see so many different types on Disco I'm not sure which one to get? I'd like one that I can eventualy mount a winch and extra lights on. Also does anyone have a good store on the West Coast to get one?

To my knowledge, there are no cheap brush guards that you can mount a winch on later without modifying the bumper. Good luck in your search.

Thanks,
Mike B.

Do you mean ALL brush guard?
I have a stock brush guard, although I have heard that it is not as strong as bull bar, I am wondering if I can fit a winch on without modifying the bumper.

The genuine brush bar is not 'winch compatible'.

Bearmach makes a winchmount that goes behind the bumper, but it will require that you cut a hole in your bumper, and you would want to mount a fairlead, too.

Or, take off your stock bumper and brushguard and install a better bar/bumper 1-piece unit, such as a Rovertym, SafariGard, ARB, TJM, Z-Bar, Bearmach, etc. etc.... none of which are 'cheap'. Later, you can reinstall your stock equipment, if need be.

Good luck,

last time i saw the Z bar, i wasn't impressed. i can say for sure that ARB seemed stronger.
the Z bar has slimmer lines though.
