Is my stock 96 disco REAR bumper strong enough to install additional recovery points?

I would like to install 2 additional recovery points on my stock 96 discovery REAR bumper, one on each side. Is my bumper strong enough to handle the load.

The new recovery points are made of by a 1” bolt, extending completely through the bumper Includes a genuine Crosby 4-3/4 ton rated shackle.

I would have to say that if you want extra rear recovery points you will want to attach them to the frame back there. The bumper is weak and will most likely rip off in a hard pull. I just use a hitch recovery receiver and it has worked OK so far for the little that it has been used.

Two small bolts are all that hold the bumper to tabs that are connected to the frame. You will tear the bumper of with your setup. Some people place Jate rings where the tie down points are on the frame. If you want recovery points at bumper height, I suggest removing the bumper and securing it firmly to the frame.

When I made my rear bumper, my first attachment point made use of a hole already drilled through the frame horns. Here is a pic
