Another question for the committee. I am about to go 235/85 (I think) and 4:10s. Great Basin or Ashcroft is the question of the day. Both have a good name and both are about the same price. Any feedback on these gears?

GBRs are stronger as the fronts are reverse cut.
Ashcroft is said to have a bit better finish on them but I can't confirm this in person.
Ron
Bottom line is you won;t break either if they are set up right.

I installed the 4.10's from GBR last year and they're great.
I'm running 7.50-16 TracEdge's.

One fella here has GBR front gears and Ashcroft rear gears--and ARBs front and rear. He says the Ashcroft gears seem to howl a bit louder. Bill does have a good product. I believe Maxidrive in Aus buys gears from him.

Maxidrive makes his gears and axles, he gets in a boatload from Aus. every month.

Bill Davis at Great Basin Rovers is an excellant source for gears, diffs, lockers, etc.

Man Bill must make a killing with one U.S. dollar worth 1.97 Aus dollars!

It looks like GBR for gears.
