I recently drained and filled the t-case and noticed a fair amount of metal attached to the magnet on the drain plug. I think the front output bearing is going bad and was curious if anyone knew how much of a pain it is to go through. And also if it is finacially feasable. thanks for any info

It is not supposed to be too bad.
I am rebuilding one in December (yes I plan this much ahead) I will let you know how bad it is then.

Daniel,
I rebuilt my BW T-case and I bought some parts from www.nationaldrivetrain.com for the best price. There's a branch in South Chicago it just so happens! They had my chain but I don't know if they'd have parts for your LT230. Are you thinking of perhaps installing some crawling ratio gears from GBR ($$)?
