As the subject says how much flex will a stock D1 have? The reason that I am asking is that I wound up on an ATV trail yesterday. It was wide enough for the LR. Could only make it halfway through before turning around. If I had a winch or just kept pushing I would have made it. The last half was all really off camber stuff with medium sized rocks. Anyway, at one point I looked at my flex. It appeared that the rear had about a foot of flex while the front had a little less. Does this sound about right? Thanks!

yep...front flex sux, stock

take the swaybars off and it'll get better - rear too. you'll then be limited by shock travel.

not bad for a stock truck, 'eh ?

Your right. Not bad for a stock vehicle at all! Every week it surprises me as to how well it does off road. I'll have to think about removing the swaybars. The winds out here in CO can be very strong up in the mountains. Thanks for the input!

It's probably going to feel unstable at first with the bars off and stock suspension. It's really not - the home (UK) market trucks never had sway bars. A super mod is to put OME medium duty springs front/back. You'll get a slight amount of lift and have a MUCH more stable ride.

It's a driveway mechanic job and it'll look just fine with stock size tires.

Z,

with OME HD springs and Bilstein shocks you wouldn't have any trouble driving the Disco without the front sway bar.

I'll have to find a rig set up like that and go for a ride in it. This way I'll know whether I like it or not. Thanks for the continuous input!
