I recently had some Mintex pads put on and there was a clicking sound in sync with the wheel speed. It turned out that one of the pads was sitting a little loose in the caliper and was "slapping" the disc on each wheel turn. I took it back to the mechanic and he glued it to the caliper which worked, but after a weekend in Anza-Borrego it came loose again.
My question is this: would it be safe to put a little stonger spring in place of the retention spring to keep the pad from moving around? Is this a sign that the disc is too thin?
