Once again the American Miller High Life drinking Species known as "redneckus nascarus" is taking over more media. This species is known for its lack of comprehension of race cars turning left and right in the same race.
I encountered a member of this species in a parking lot. Looking at my Rover, he asked "Hey Boy! Is that one of those thar overseas trucks?" I answered with a proud "yes it is." The redneck followed up with "that must cost a lot for shipping!"

F1 = bad boy euro's following each other in a line.
CART = bad boy euro's crashing each other out.

Damn...damn...I hate NASCAR...what is so hard about going around in circles???

If you can get the signal from Canada ... TSN covers open wheel racing. I am a F1 junkie and they used to carry the coverage with Murray Walker (before he retired) ... better than Speedvision.

I really don't get NASCAR either. I mean, you get a damn Ford Tauras ot Chevy Monte Carlo looking thing(with sticker headlights) and go around a circle 400 times. I mean...you just turn left, how could people find this amusing. I went to a NASCAR thing a couple of weeks ago(with a friend, who payed for the ticket ) The damn place was packed with people. I couldn't understand what was so "fun" about watching it. But I love to watch Le Mans races. The cars are so damn cool. It takes lots and lots of talent to build cars like those and race them through those tight turns and fast straght-a-ways. Speedvison has the best comentaters too. They know their stuff.

I just emailed speedvision begging them not to do it. I'm quite the bigwig in racing circles so I'm sure I'll get a response, they'll probably invite me to help w/ the new format.
I love the fact that we're all so insignificant. Someones probably telling them all they need to do is show nascar races supplemented only by tobacco commercials and they'll make a killing... they're probably right. If that article is correct I'm going to have one less tv channel to watch, and I only had 3 to begin w/ (that I can stand to watch).
MA, I agree. Did you see the 2000 le mans (no I don't mean the whole thing just this part) where the Audi blew a rearend. They changed the gearbox and rearend in 12 minutes. The whole rear came apart and the gearbox uncoupled from frame/motor by like 4 bolts. It was totally amazing. I saw it on a recap show of how dominating Audi was that year. The car went on to win. Hell, in Nascar, a plug wire falls off and the cars out of the race... not much enginuity there.

I can see it now................NASCAR brainwashing provided by speedvision. Who knows, I might wake up in the middle of the night and trade my Rover in for a Aztec!

Those Audi R8's are awesome. They have won almost every race in the past 2 years. That BMW M3 is also sweet with that 450hp V8.
Lynden,
Yeah, I remember that one. I watched some parts of it, there was no way I could watch it all. My brother and some car crazed friends had this Le Mans viewing party at our house, they stayed up for 24 hours straight to watch the race!! Did you see the last one in Road Atlanta. That pissed me off when Kristensen crashed the lead Audi. But the other Audi piloted by Pirro won the race.
