After all this talk about HD axles...I have decided to get some, but I still want to use my alloys...where can I get the cheapest ones?
thanks

Ashcroft are the cheapest.

The ones that Bill at GB sells will work with the alloys, but I'm not to sure about Ashcrofts axels.

"Supposedly" the slim hub ashcrofts are for alloys but i have not confirmed.

Is there a difference in strength between the smaller/bigger ones? Is it the drive flange that's bigger or what?
If I'm gonna pay for HD axles, I'd rather get the aluminum rims machined so they fit or I'd get steel ones. Or would RTE spacers work?

I dunno about fitment and strength on the slim hub ashcrofts. Wish I did. I can tell you that the GBR/Maxidrive ones are made from better steel than the ashcrofts, so you might be better shelling out a couple more bucks.

Thanks.
What about machinning the aloy rims?

Humm, They would look like crap when done as the cap on the standard ashcroft drive member whould stick out so far that the center caps could not be used. Either check and see if the slim hub ashcrofts will fit or buy the maxidrives.

Nah,
I'd rather use steel rims. I also thought of using RTE spacers, but I don't know if those would have to be machined and from the looks of them, they can't. I don't think the machined alloys themselves would look too bad as the hub would fill the hole.
