It's the great pumpkin!

I'm sorry, but it looks like an Xterra.

'I'm sorry, but it looks like an Xterra.'

I'm sure someone will agree with me when I say I'd rather drive a freelander than an xterra!

FreeLander How 'bout this one?

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of pageLink to this message   By gp (Garrett) on Thursday, October 18, 2001 - 08:24 am: Edit

there was a semi-pimped out one at MAR. i think most who where there saw it. shiney with lots of chrome. well then he went and spashed mud on it late at night when no one was watching. i did not get to see it's off road capabilities at all though. but with the front bull/brushgard and skid plate there was about as much ground clearance as a matchbox car. no really. you would have to jack it up to change the oil.
the one above (green one) does have the Fagterra wheel trim.

Ya know.....

Instead of going with "the Great Pumpkin" theme, I think that it'll be better once someone gets a-hold of one and goes over it with CamelTrophy yellow... pimp it up into a CT replica. A-bar, roof-rack, Hellas....

As a matter of fact, I've heard of plans for that to happen to one on arrival in December...
:)

Not sold on it. Falls in that chick category of "cute-ute".

More plastic molding and crap then an Aztec or an Avalance. Low profile tires like pimp daddy's lowered suburban. No low range t-box.

With a price in the mid~upper $20k's, I'd be shopping for a 2000 end of lease DII with under 30k miles for less money so I could have more truck. Err, I mean so I could have A truck. The Freelander is a car. Get a Subaru. At least that way you'll get quality control to go with it your AWD.

it needs to at least look like this. Big brother closely watching behind making sure he doesn't get into trouble.

Exactly!

THAT'S what a Freelander needs to look like...

Otherwise, it looks like a RAV4.

There's something magical about British-Leyland Sandglow.... :)

"Not sold on it. Falls in that chick category of "cute-ute"."

And that's exactly what they're marketed for. My sweety sees advertisements for Freelanders all over the place on those chick websites like i-village and such. I, for one, hope LR is successful with them because they sure as hell aren't making any money on Defenders and Range Rovers (are they making money on Discos?). This car has the potential to help support LR so we should embrace its existance and tell everyone we know to buy one... Well, except for our close friends!

Now go out there and thank a soccer mom for buying her Disco and stop picking on this poor car.

Brian:

How can your sweety like Freelanders? Doesn't she drive a Rangie?

;)

Andy: Hey, I didn't say she liked it. Only that she sees ads for it. She's too used to all that space in her phat LWB ghetto cruiser.

Now let's just go to the "Freelander: Road to Adventure" thingy next weekend and have some free food and drink and enjoy looking at the cute rollerskate... while silently thinking "who the F*$% would buy this thing???".

Any LR that my wife actually likes is a good LR.

God bless her...and the Freelander...I think?!

Sign my little lady up for the cabrio... That thing isn't half bad. What's this I hear about one of the car mags. dissin' the Freelander? Why are those clowns so anti Rover? They're always shittin' on all the rover's, they're too used to soft riding, economical, maintenance free japanese crap... sure boils my blood sometimes. If you need an SUV to go to the mall, buy an outback. If you need an SUV to go to the outback... buy a Rover!
