Ok Ok..

I have heard of it happening to other people and this isn't the first time it's happened to me..

Go to start my truck:

1. Put the key and turn it, nothing happens, abs. nothing.. No power no nothing.. Like I'm trying to start a tree..

2. Flip the lights on, try starting again. Works. Sometimes. CODE now appears. Something has cut off.

3. This morning turning the lights on did not get it to start. Nothing, just nothing no matter what. Except this: My clock would say 1:00 or what ever and when i turned the lights on the clock goes dead. Turn em off, comes back on.

4. This morning a jump start from a buddy got me to work. And no, I just got a brand new battery, 900 cca..

If you can help I would love it!!!! I know this is a common prob. with the year I have and some one has to knwo whats up..

Ok, see this happened to me and I ended up replacing the coil...thats NOT it...check all your fuses in the box underneath the dashboard (drivers side) I had to replace mine, I think (THINK but not sure) it was 12...it was a red one nevertheless. Ok, so I ended up disabling my radio's suppressor, I don't know why, but it seemed to help stop the problem for good. We also installed a line fuse on the coil and that one has gone once since we did it a few months ago becuase the electrical tape on a lead got loose, fell off and grounded...but I replaced the fuse and it worked. When you do it though, REMEMBER TO DISCONNECT THE BATTERY on at least one terminal..Oh yeah, use a test light on the fuses, it will save your fingers and sometimes you can't tell if its blown just by looking...the first time it happened to me I spent 75 bucks on a fuse because of it...I hope this helps!

Your obviously loosing all power so I'd check to make sure the battery cables are secure. Make sure the ground wires are secure, the large one and the smaller one(s) to the frame. Check the cable that goes from the battery to the electrical center near the battery (that's where all the power for the various circuits is distributed). The cable to the elec. box on mine is part of the battery terminal bolt, if yours is this way, make sure there is no corrosion and that this bolt has good contact with the battery and is tight.

Thanks for the help guys..

Nothing is seeming to work though.. Everything checks out to be fine.. Some questions though..

Where are all my grounds? So I can check them and clean em..

Could this have anythign to do with an alt.? I got it checked last time this happened and they said it was fine.. I got a new battery and the prob. disapeared until 2 days or so ago..

Please help, this is my daily driver! Thanks to everyone again!

Ben
