Hopefully someone can help with the following problem. Right rear window was rolled about 1/2 way down and now will not go back up. Can hear the motor clicking, but no movement. Window was pushed back up and shimmed with paper from the LR manual as a temp fix. Any ideas? Thanks.

Sounds like the regulator. Get the door panel off and have a look for yourself.

How about this: BOTH rear windows work only when they choose to, but always in pairs (i.e. they either BOTH work or BOTH don't work). Sometimes they won't go down, sometimes the won't go up. When they're not working, there are no sounds to be heard, except me clicking the switches and swearing like a moron. I've ruled out the switches and fuse is fine. Do regulators work in tandem? Why would both crap in & out at the same time?
Of course, I went to wash the beast Saturday and the windows refused to go up. After I finished carefully washing with the rear windows down, of course they went right up. And, OF COURSE, it rained today on my spotless beast. This is my life.

thanks for the offer Danno! I was hoping to avoid messing with anything ECU-related, but oh well here we go always a freakin adventure - I'm confident I can screw up the front windows, too. I foresee all windows stuck down and then unprecedented monsoonal activity will ensue.

Bluegill-
Check the rear rug rat lockout switch, make sure there isn't a problem with it or wiring to it. (that's the switch that keeps rear pass. from messing with the windows.

yeah, I've investigated that switch, and it doesn't seem to be the culprit...

Thanks for the info...but could you go into a little more detail about the regulator? I've only had the Disco about a month and haven't tried any repairs yet. Plus, I haven't purchased a Haynes or shop manual yet. Thanks again.

Punchy325,
It is a very easy fix. Email me and I will go into detail.
