Hi,

I have a 96 with OME heavy front and mid in the rear. I have about 1.5 inch lift up front due to the ARB and winch. I have 2 inch lift in the back. I want to install the BFG 285/75-16 tires. Do I need to do much trimming? And if I do, what areas? Thanks much.

I am not trying to be rude, but you do know how big those tires are right? You will do some major carving to try to fit those!

You would also have to spend about $1800 on drivetrain modifications.

No trimming necessary. Just remove front and rear quarter panels and rear doors and everything should be fine...

major carving. oh yes.
but then again, it's just sheetmetal... and if nicely done, i dont' see a problem there.

drivetrain... hehehehe, eventually they fail, and will be upgraded, like it or not.

JUST DO IT!!!!

when you do it, don't forget to take pictures.

to clear the rear door, use the spacer for the a-frame. RoverTym makes them...

it can be done. 35's could fit if you have the time and $ to do it.

33's with an OME 1 1/2" to 2" lift is not a wise move unless like Danno says you have time and money. A 4" lift(spring or spring/body lift) is minimum for that size tire for minor sheet metal trimming. Its not only sheet metal but there is inner wheel well clearance to consider. Definately not for the average weekend offroader IMO.
