What is the life expectancy of a starter?

Water pump?

Fuel pump?

I know that these are kind of loaded questions, since they depend on how they are used, etc. In addition, will some of you list the year of your Disco and how many miles you have on it? I am trying to get a feel for how long my truck is going to last. Thanks.

My starter started doing that clicking crap about two years ago. Since I have issues with letting original parts go I refused to change it. Its two years later and its still kicking.. I think around 90K is where the starters get cranky (Pardon the pun) In dry areas its probably much longer.

Kyle-- What year is your Disco and how many miles can you expect to get from one of these things?

They'll have to pry my Disco out of my cold fingers...

just like with any other car/truck you get out of it what you put in. you take care of it and take care of the regular maintenance on these trucks i am sure you will be hunched over and drooling on yourself before your truck dies. sure you will have to replace stuff here and there just like any other car/truck, but i know many folks with very high milage on rovers and they still run strong.

Mine is a 95 with 161,000 miles and all that I've replaced (major)is the power steering pump and every liquid and seal. Oh yeah, I bought a new battery last week. Best of luck.
