1...All (inside & out) fuses triple checked & are fine.
2...All parking lights and headlights (low & high) fine.
3...Signals and hazzard lights fine.
95 disco...
Could this be a bad switch in the (steering column) signal lever?
Anyone have this happen before?
Thanks

Did you check the brightness wheel, to make sure that it wasn't turned all the way down?

Could still be the brightness rheostat gone bad - disconnect it and see what happens (if you havn't already tried that)

All exterior parking lights out as well...headlights work.
So I tore the steering column down, removed the light/signal lever assembly...looked at the contacts...any they got a bit hot...built up carbon on the contacts...and stopped the connection.
I cleaned them up...filed and coated...works now, but want to replace it...SEE: WANTED ADS for pic too.
I'm trying to figure out why it's getting so damn hot...must be all those little lit up gadgets on the interior that I've added plus those city lights in the Hellas???!!!
It's not blowing fuses...just getting real hot??!!

How do you pull apart the lever ass'y? I have the same prob. Lights in the binnacle and tail lights won't come on unless I jiggle the crap out the lever. What did you use to coat it once clean? Thanks for the help.

look closely...there's tabs there that release when pushed...use caution, there's springs and loose pieces too...remember where it all goes!
I didn't take pics of those piesces, sorry
White lithium grease seems to work well.
Good luck

Slider, did you solve the interior light problem? My dash lights have been turning off intermitantly too. I have not traced the source, but it seems to be associated with the brightness rheostat (as mentioned above) or a bad ground. When they are out a small hit to top of dash does the trick to illuminate. Yes a flashback to 'Happy Days'

I would put money on Dialectric grease working better...you can get it at Atozone or Trak or carquest...

So dialectic grease is better than this technique
