Hey guys, pulled my first Jeep out of this hole 2 weeks ago:

That is a buddy of mine who goes kamikaze through any obstacle he comes to. So I have had to pull him out a lot since then. Can't blame him though, he only paid $350 for that CJ. So he is fearless. I kinda envy him that.

This is us at the beginning of the day by my disco:

Here I am going up one side:

and my friend down the other side:

of the same hill.

I am not good with angles, but those hills are steep. The side we went up is even steeper then the one you can see Neil coming down. It was cool to see the CJ require a running start, and I just pulled up, put the Disco in low and lock the CDL and go up nice and slow.

I am only just getting into off-roading, but I am starting to learn enough to be impressed with what my my Rover will do. My Jeep buddies love it too.

Hey Marc, howzabout you get your pal to find me a $350.00 Disco to offroad? There must be something freeing about not worrying so much about your investment. Fun pics, too!

I remember pulling a stuck Wrangler out of a ditch full of snow with my '89 RR. He was appreciative, but seemed a little perplexed. He was probably embarassed to be rescued by a Toyota.

my first rescue with my current discovery was a plymouth sundance. my VERY elderly neighbor drove over a retaining wall and had the car hanging half way off the wall. regardless he wanted to get unstuck before his wife got home and took away his keys for good. talk about no recovery points. i had straps all over the place.......even his sway bars. maybe this winter i will get a nice ford ranger pickup to pull out. just working my way up.
