What is the life expectancy of Disco? Should we expect 150K out of it? Or should we dump the Disco every five years? I am talking reasonable maintainance here (i.e. at most fixing something everything few months, not working under the truck every night).

Any comments?

I've got 70k on my '99 Disco, it's never been back to the dealer... I do the maintenence myself...

Many here are well past the 150k mark, and a couple past the 200k mark....

If you take care of it, but actually DRIVE it, I'd say that you could keep it on the road far longer than most people can put up with a car... most people want a new car, instead of driving the same ol' car... With a Rover, you can put however many miles on it you want...

IMHO, YMMV.....

being one of the more serious persons on this site i will have to comment, as you others are just far too sarcastic!!! :)

after every other tank of gas i get a new one. i think that is the average.

ok.....ha ha's aside. just like any other car/truck if you take care of them they will last into the 200's. granite you will have a few more 'issues' along the way, but that's all part of the fun.

Granite? Granite?? Is that for Blue's benefit, or mine??

I may be gneiss, but don't take me for granite...

Where you there when the schist hit the alluvial fan?

I miss this bumper sticker that was on my jeep:

Geologists make the bedrock

take care of the Disco, and you can drive it forever.
