Husky 8, Warn XD9000i, 6 3/4 D rings, Tow strap (2), tree strap, snatchblock, 60in hilift, BFHammer, ax, shovel, Camel trophy yellow ring to look cool (still don't know what it is for), 20ft of 5/16 grade 7 chain, 6ft of 3/8 chain both choker ends, food, hand cleaner, moist wipes, food, lots of food, mountain dew, diet coke, diet sprite, gatorade, sleeping bag, about 100lbs of tools, JB weld, make a gasket, CB radio with giant antenna, WD-40, machette (sp?), fire extiguisher, bubble gum, starting fluid, matches, TP, air matress, foam pads, military entrenching tool, cat litter, misc parts I have scrounged inc. lots of bolts, 1 gallon of coolent, come-a-long, 5 gallons of water, 10 gallons of gas, extra oil filter, case of oil plus a couple extra quarts, gallon of 90wt., spare rear half shafts, and what have I ever really needed? Only one thing that was ever necessary and we did not have it: Brake fluid and a set of needle nose vice grips. Now I have those in there too. I am sure I missed some things.

I generally carry 2 9/16x1/2 combo wrenches, a cheap socket set, a strap, some bailing wire, and some extra oil and brake fluid when I travel in the 1959 88. All you need. The disco I don't trust.

And a bunch of spares. But that is more what I have on hand than anything else.

Ron,
Is the cat litter to put on the oil spots you leave at your friend's house while visiting?
Awfully kind of you... :)

Really depends on whether I'm in AAA range or not!

But I seperate my gear into function:

ME gear

Stable food, water, wool blanket, coveralls, Boots.
Wetwipes and roll of towels
flashlight with backup

Recovery Gear

Gloves, 3/8" high test chain with hooks
Straps
Extra D-rings
Hi-lift rigged as emergency winch
2 extra hitch pins

Vehicle fluids

Spare fuel (5-15 gallons depending on trip
enough to do oil change
1 gallon 90w
Brake Fluid (enough to do full flush)
Coolant (enough to do full change)
ATF - 3 quarts.
grease-gun
Jack & 2 jackstands
4x4 and 6x6
lugwrench
machete
"personal protection"

Spares

Fuses & electrical connectors
Bulbs
2 spools of 12ga. wire
oil, air, fuel filters
set of wheelbearings
Funnels

Tools

Ratchet set
hammer
file
metric and SAE wrenches
Channellocks
screwdriver set
halogen light
drill with bits
cheater bar
misc. tools

All tools go in the toolbox. If it doesn't fit, then stuff gets pared down. All recovery gear is in a military tanker bag. All spares and fluids are in a Actionpacker. Packing the truck is a 1-2-3 operation. Add the beer cooler and dry clothes if wading is on the agenda, and off you go. This is MUCH more gear than I would carry for a local trail. I tend to have to travel 200+ miles to a trail so my list is longer than most peoples.

If you tend to wheel with a group, try to organize with others so that you are not all carrying redundant gear. That should save everyone a bunch of weight.

When you pack tools pack two of most things. Dont rely on that one wrench not breaking....

Those are for the disco with OME HDs. It looks like a low rider with it in there though :)

The RR I keep nothing in. I like it to be as high off the ground as possible.

Bring all that stuff, and add one more item...

A funnel small enough to fit down the transmission level dipstick hole. I needed one and didn't have one. Now I have an assortment of funnels for all fluids.

Hey if nobody wants the cheerleaders, they're all going in my car, and I HOPE to break down!
