I have ’97 Disco this weekend I came across a unique problem while driving to Richmond VA from Washington DC, twice I experience loss of power accompanied by a shrudder. This was proceeded by the speedometer failing to zero even while the tac showed the same revolutions. In both cases my foot was on the accelerator with the same amount of pressure and I was driving around 75 mph. Does anyone know what could have caused this? No problems on the way back. Any insight?

I also posted this in the other thread...but here you go!

This may sound odd, but check the negative battery terminal connection, and the ground locations as well. I sometimes have a momentary (IIRC, about half a second or so) loss of power when turning on headlights at speed. One check of the connections and things are better, until I shake loose the connection on our wonderful roads...

Someone has posted the battery ground wire locations before -- I'm sure it's in the archives...

You were transported to a distant universe by space aliens who dropped you back off in the approximate space and time you left. The shudder you felt was the slight difference between the time you "left" and the time you "returned".

Does it only happen at highway speeds(70-80)?
Does your check engine light come on when this happens?
It might be the speed transducer.

Sure sounds like the VSS or Speed Transducer. Mine did the same thing only above 75mph.

Here is the bugger. I got mine from Nathan and it takes about 15 mins to install. It's in the end of the TC
VSS

Oldscout,

How much are we talking? Also, where on the TC is it located? Thanks in advance
