Can ya believe it? Used to have a 96 Disco a few years back and the service from the dealer sucked! Always excuses never fixes-it was under warranty! Now I have a 99 series II and it needed warranty repair. Brought it in for oil leak- Came out with all new head gaskets, exhaust manifold gaskets,a new serpentine belt, new belt pulley, 45k service, repaired rear seat locking mechanism, and complimentary cup holders!! No charge for any of the above and no oil leaks to speak of! Yeah, I know, I'm still in shock! Best of all, my wife tells me she got no hassle w/ the loaner disco and they treated her "Infinity Style!" Those of you that have owned an Infinity know what I mean. If they keep this up they might actually start selling trucks to "regular" folks, not just the "glutton for punishment" types like me!...I also have an 85 Carrera that keeps me and my wallet busy.

Yeah, I thought my wife was on something when she told me! Its been a few days now and I still can't believe it. I guess there's hope. And they DID put that "quality assurance" sticker on the front page of the reciept telling me to give them a good report when the factory calls me to see how my experience was. It'll be the first time I can actually give them the "thumbs-up".

Where is this heavenly dealer?

I've had nothing but curteous and trouble-free service from my dealership, Phillips Land Rover in Virginia Beach, VA. Their body shop is absolutely top-notch, and their service department is easy to work with.

...then again, after my new vehicle warranty ran-out, I haven't really been in there for a "scheduled service," since I like to keep my hands dirty in the maintenance of my truck :)

No, not a helicopter tech. Just a humble Residential HVAC tech. The "heavenly dealer" is Henessey L.R. NorthPoint in Alpharetta, Ga. and is the same dealer AND SAME SERVICE writer I had w/ my 96 Disco a few years ago. Isn't it Ford that controls L.R. now? I wonder if they have anything to do w/ the sudden attitude adjustment.

I have to say that I have had pretty decent experiences with the dealers.

I bought my 1995 Disco from Tischer LR in Laurel, MD. They were okay and did fix all the quirky problems under the warranty. But they probably didn't do a good enough job because they lost their dealership a few years ago.

While Frankel LR's management seems less than enthusiastic, I must say that their service manager Jeff Sine has always come to my aid when I needed it. There were a couple of times when the electrics just started to go haywire, I called him up and he let me bring it in right away. For his help, I am thankful.

I haven't gone to the dealership of late because I have been very happy with the service at Treasured Motorcar Services in Owings Mills, MD. Of which, I have been recommending to everyone I know and meet.
